David Grylls

David has over 20 years' experience developing, financing and managing power and energy projects. At Actis, he gets to use this experience to provide returns for investors while helping to improve the lives of others.


Within Actis' Infrastructure fund, David has an emerging market focus on power distribution and generation. Before joining Actis in 2008, he worked at Globeleq (an Actis investee company) for five years where he was responsible for business development, mainly in Africa, completing a number of projects including privatisations, acquisitions, re-financings and exits, in Egypt, Uganda and Panama. David was previously Managing Director of Midlands Power International, responsible for their power generation businesses in the UK, Pakistan and Turkey.


A Chartered Engineer with an MBA from Kingston University and a BSc (Hons) from Bath University, he has also worked at Covanta, Edison Mission Energy, Aquila and British Petroleum. David enjoys Actis' working environment, distinguished by people who have a unique, shared interest in investing and managing businesses in growth economies.

Patrick Eeckelers

Mr. Patrick Eeckelers was appointed General Manager of Eneo after more than 30 years of experience with Engie, one of the world's leading electricity companies. Patrick has wealth of expertise including general management, business transformation, project management, business development, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and the energy value chain.

In addition to holding several board positions, as a CEO Patrick has managed industrial companies, both joint venture and publicly listed companies, with a focus on growth or crisis management, in competitive and fast changing environments.

In one of his most recent positions, Patrick managed a multi-sector portfolio in Hungary, including 1,700 MW of gas, 800,000 distribution customers, among others, with a turnover of over $1 billion and 1,400 employees.

Mr. Eeckelers holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleu and a Master's degree in Electromechanical Engineering.

David Alderton

David represents Actis Energy's interests in Cameroon where Actis owns 51% of the national electricity (distribution and generation) concessionnaire, Eneo. As well as sitting on the utility’s board and committees, David works closely with the executive team to deliver key files including: the concession extension in 2018, transfer of transmission asset back to government in 2021 and mobilising euro 150m of commercial debt to finance the company’s capital expenditure plans in 2020.

Previously David was strategy director for Umeme, the Ugandan electricity distribution utility where he oversaw the successful public listing of the concession in both Uganda and Kenya and the largest corporate financing to date with a US$190m DFI/commercial package to fund essential distribution investments.

Prior to joining the Actis energy team, David was an executive in the financial services team responsible for origination, coordinating DD, transaction support and portfolio management. David has a Masters in Development Economics from the University of Sussex and Bachelor in Economics from Bath University (First Class).

Philippe Joubert

Philippe is Executive Chair of Global Electricity Initiative, Senior Advisor & MD - Energy & Climate, WBCSD and is an Advisory Board member for the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.


Philippe began his career in the banking industry in Brazil and Wall Street, New York. He then joined the Alstom Group in Brazil in 1986 and became Country President for the Group in 1992. In 2000, he joined the Executive Committee of Alstom as Executive Vice President and became President of the Transmission and Distribution sector and President of Power Sector, a business of 12 billion Euros, with 47,000 employees in 60 countries. In 2011, he was appointed by the Board Deputy CEO of the Group in charge of the Strategy, Sustainability and International Network of Alstom, a Group of 94,000 employees in 100 countries with 21 billion Euros sales. He left this position in 2012, and was appointed Senior Advisor to the Alstom Chairman and CEO.


He joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBSCD) as Senior Advisor and Managing Director in charge of Energy and Climate area, Electric Utilities sector. He is also an advisor for Urban Infrastructure and Mobility initiatives. He is Executive Chair of Global Electricity Initiative, a common venture of World Energy Council, WBCSD and Global Sustainability Electricity Partnership. He chairs The Prince of Wales's EU Corporate Leaders Group in Brussels and sits on the Advisory Board of CISL.

Elias Pungong

Elias is a former Senior Partner- Energy at Ernst & Young (EY), where he led the firm's energy and Oil & Gas practice. Prior to EY, he spent 14 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he was a member of PwC's Africa Leadership team and Managing Partner for the firm's Sub-Saharan Africa Francophone team, leading the firm's expansion efforts across Francophone Africa. In his other activities and functions, Elias currently serves as Honorary British Consul to the Littoral Region in Cameroon and a Director/Advisor to a number of organisations doing business in Africa. A Fellow at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, Elias was also selected as one of the prestigious Young Global Leaders by the Davos World Economic Forum in 2009, earned an MA degree with first class honours in Mathematical Statistics from Oxford University, and received advanced executive training at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Yale School of Management in global leadership, management and organisational leadership. With a distinguished career spanning 25-years, Elias has advised governments, multinationals and private sector institutions across Africa on strategy, operation, and general management issues.

Funke Okubadejo

Funke is an experienced private equity and real estate investor, at Actis since 2007, with a strong track record in key sectors including real estate projects with GAV of $550m in office, retail and hospitality sectors across West Africa.

Prior to joining Actis, Funke gained six years private equity experience spanning origination, investment structuring and asset management at African Capital Alliance, a leading Nigerian private equity firm where she also helped to establish its real estate fund. With prior her experience in assurance and business advisory, she brings rounded skills to add value at both strategic and operational levels to management and project teams to attain set business objectives.

Funke started her career at KPMG, is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos and a Masters in Finance from the London Business School. Funke is also a member of the Actis Macro. She speaks English and

Eric Mansuy

Eric is the Managing Director of Eneo Cameroon S.A. since the Eneo Board of Directors dated Thursday 28th November 2019.

Since January 2019, he was Deputy Managing Director of ENEO in charge of Distribution and Trade. He has held several management positions in energy utilities in Eastern Europe (including Chairman and CEO positions), and has a rich professional experience in Africa.

He brings more than 30 years of experience in electricity transmission and distribution that will contribute to improving Eneo's performance while increasing customer satisfaction.

Amine HOMMAN LUDIYE

Amine is an engineer in Energy graduated from Ecole Polytech of Nantes. He also holds a MBA from the IAE Nancy School of Management and an Executive Master's degree in Innovation and New Technologies from Ecole Polytechnique de Paris.

He started his career in 1995 in France in IDEX group, specialized in energy services and energy efficiency. From 1995 to 2010 he held various positions as project engineer, agency manager and then Regional Director.

In 2010 he joined ENGIE as CEO of COFELY in Morocco where he developed the energy services and facility management activities in North Africa. In 2015 he was appointed CEO of ENGIE North Africa in charge of ENGIE's activities (Renewable Energy, Energy Infrastructure and Energy Services) for Morocco-Algeria-Tunisia-Libya and Egypt, where he also holds various directorships until 2020.

In 2021 he joined Actis as Deputy CEO of ENEO in Cameroon, in charge of Generation activities. In 2022 he was appointed as a Board Member of ENEO.

Adrián Ratner

Mr. Adrián Ratner is a consultant with strong experience in Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Strategy, Regulatory, and Commercial issues of Electricity Companies.


He is BA in Economics and a M.S. in Public Finance, getting University Award for the highest marks graduating as Economist at the National University of Córdoba. He was CFO of Energuate, an economic group integrated by 2 (two) electricity distribution companies (DEOCSA and DEORSA), 1 (one) transmission company (RECSA), and 1 (one) electricity trading company (GUATEMEL) located in Guatemala. He had a significant role in setting the strategic direction of the Company, introducing best-practices and processes in the finance function, supporting the tariff review process, and following-up the main KPIs, in order to increase the enterprise value, while positioning the business for longer-term success. In 2016, following the target set by ACTIS, ENERGUATE was sold, reaching the return expected.


Before joining ENERGUATE, he worked for AES, a global power company with generation and distribution businesses in 29 countries, and formerly as Partner Consultant of Quantum America Corp, a consultant firm of Energy Sector. With AES worked as Director of Strategy and Financial Planning in Central American and Caribbean, Brazil and at Global level in Arlington, USA.


As Consultant, he has managed more than 60 sixty consultant projects for electricity companies executed in different countries of LATAM, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia, Panama, El Salvador, Brazil, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Africa, Cameroon, Uganda and Mozambique.

  • Lynda Amadagana

    Lynda Amadagana is a lawyer admitted in Paris and Cameroon specializing in corporate transactions, energy, mining and infrastructure projects, concessions and project financing in Europe and Africa.

    Lynda is the managing Partner of the law firm Amadagana & Partners (A&P Law Firm) and the legal advisor of Cameroon Power Holdings.

    Prior to founding A&P Law Firm, Lynda worked at the Paris offices of several international law firms including Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, Clifford Chance, Simmons & Simmons and Reed Smith. She also worked in the Nuclear Engineering division of the EDF group.

    In her free time, Lynda serves as Vice-President of the Club Diallo Telli, a France-based think tank supporting sustainable and inclusive growth in Africa. She is also a board member of the African Business Lawyer's Club (ABLC), a French Association promoting a better understanding of doing business in Africa and is also a founding member of the Club of Cameroonian lawyers practicing in France (AJCF), a French association promoting Cameroon among international investors.

  • Eamonn Furniss

    Eamonn holds an MBA, MA and a BSC in Financial Information Systems from Trinity College University, Ireland. He is an accomplished Business and Technology professional with significant international experience with leading consultancies (IBM Global Services, EDS and Accenture) in Europe, (PARC and ACTIS LLP) in the Middle East and Africa.

    He has strong business skills gained in senior management, operations, service delivery, information technology and telecommunications in international settings, with extensive experience in electricity distribution and supply management. Some of the functional areas he has worked in include billing, prepayment technology, advanced metering infrastructure, inventory management and large scale ICT implementations. Eamonn is a certified Project Management practitioner with a track record in overseeing multi-million USD projects on time and within budget.

  • Epitacio Miranda

    Epitacio joined the Actis Energy Team in 2019 and focuses on energy investments. He has seven years of experience in energy and infrastructure investing, having previously worked at Angra Partners (2011-2017) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he covered new investments and portfolio companies in the electricity distribution, renewable energy and port terminal spaces.

    Epitacio holds a BSc. in Mechatronic Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Sajeed Rahman

    Sajeed is responsible for executing and managing investments as part of the Energy & Infrastructure team at Actis. 

    Sajeed has been in the power sector for over 8 years and has experience across South East Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. Prior to joining Actis, Sajeed was at Tetris Capital where he invested in social infrastructure and power generation assets within Australia. Sajeed brings with him relevant electricity sector experience from his employment at the Boston Consulting Group where he worked with clients such as the Philippine’s largest renewable power company, as well as his roles at Transgrid (transmission) and Ausgrid (distribution) in Australia.  

    Sajeed holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Master of Engineering Management from the University of Wollongong and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales.
